Location

Blagdon is a wonderful village, located within the Mendip Hills an area recognised for its Outstanding Natural Beauty. Voted one of the best secret places to live in the UK by The Sunday Times, Blagdon offers the perfect balance of country life while retaining easy access to the nearby cities of Bath and Bristol. There are breathtaking views all around and the area is well placed for outdoor pursuits such as walking, cycling, horse riding, and fishing among others.

The village itself is home to a range of amenities including a popular coffee shop, a convenience store, a post office, a church, three public houses, a Primary School and a Pre-School. Yeo Valley Organic Gardens are nearby as is Blagdon Lake and the wonderful Chew Valley.

Transport

Blagdon is a short drive from the A38 giving easy access to Bristol to the north and Taunton, Exeter, Devon and Cornwall to the south. It runs adjacent to the M5, the nearest junction of which can be found in St Georges (J21). For those who prefer to travel by bus, several busses run through Blagdon giving ease of access to Bristol, Cheddar, Wells and Weston-Super-Mare. Mainline railway services can be found in Yatton while the nearby Bristol Airport is a short drive away giving easy access to destinations further afield.

Education

The Stables and The Old Potting Shed can be located within the Coombe Lodge estate, offering both a nursery and pre-school for the very youngest of children. Blagdon Primary School and Pre-School is located within the village while for secondary school age pupils, the nearby Churchill Academy and Sixth Form is a short drive away.  

Alternative Primary Schools can be found in the nearby villages of Burrington and Ubley. While for private schools, Sidcot School of excellent repute is around 15 minutes away by car, catering for children from three to 18 years old.
